The Council on Compulsive Gambling of NJ (CCGNJ) is a private non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization whose primary purpose is to represent the best interest of disordered gamblers and their families, recognizing that problem or disordered gambling is a treatable illness. The Council refers those struggling with this addiction and their families to treatment, while advocating for increased services.
The CCGNJ is in partnership with the Division of Gaming Enforcement (DGE). Individuals can elect to activate a voluntary self-exclusion option which allows an individual to be removed from casino marketing lists as well as being banned from play either online or in person. More information can be found on the DGE’s website: https://www.njoag.gov/about/divisions-and-offices/division-of-gaming-enforcement-home/self-exclusion-program/
New Jersey residents can also be referred to a Certified Compulsive Gambling Counselor for one-on-one sessions, in addition to in-patient facilities. For more information call our helpline at 800-GAMBLER and ask for a list of treatment providers.
The CCGNJ continually provides up -to-date information and resources on our website and continually strives to raise awareness, while providing support, treatment, and hope for problem gamblers. The above informational brochures and fact sheets cover topics including senior, teen, or adolescent gambling, domestic violence, self-exclusion, and problem gambling in the military.
