“Detaching From Experience; Attaching to the Chase”
Presented by: Luke Roche, LCSW, LCADC, ICGC-I
Description: Research indicates that dissociation is strongly related to Gambling Disorder. Additionally, untreated dissociation and dissociative disorders are linked to significant negative consequences including continued gambling, non-suicidal self-injurious behavior, suicidal behavior, and impaired functioning. The presentation will help participants describe dissociation, identify dissociative symptoms, differentiate dissociation from dissociation from dissociative disorders, and incorporate treatment for dissociation into treatment for Gambling Disorder.
Description: Join us for an insightful presentation that delves into the complexities of gambling issues within the Hispanic community. This session will explore the prevalence of gambling addiction, cultural attitudes, and the unique risk factors that contribute to this growing concern. We will examine socioeconomic influences, family dynamics, and the barriers that often prevent individuals from seeking help, including stigma and language challenges.
