PA’s Parx Casino Follows SugarHouse Into New Jersey Online Casino Market

Casino gambling in New Jersey is no longer limited to AC — now, you can gamble online on a growing number of virtual casinos that have recently been established. The most recent addition to the list, Parx Casino, is one of the biggest yet, and it’s brought a host of online casino games across the Delaware River to the State of New Jersey. Parx Casino’s soft-launch kicked off on October 4th, 2019, before the Division of Gaming Enforcement gave them approval to officially go live on October 7th, 2019.

It Was Only a Matter of Time

The market for online gambling in the Garden State is growing fast, thanks to the recent legalization of sports betting. So, Parx Casino’s move to open their digital doors across state lines was simply the next logical step, from a business-minded approach. Additionally, many individuals from New Jersey may have already been crossing state lines on a regular basis to visit the Parx Casino location in PA, as Atlantic City is further out of the way for some residents. This move allows those residents to have more convenient access to the services offered by Parx Casino — but this raises concerns for those who struggle with disordered gambling.

Lots of Table Games & Slots

When you think of online betting in New Jersey, you probably picture sports gambling and e-sports in Woodbridge, NJ. But now, online gambling is exactly like betting at the casino because the internet lets you legally play all of the same games that are available at a brick and mortar casino in Atlantic City. Parx’s online casino operation in New Jersey offers 94 games in total, which is alarming for families that have been affected by disordered gambling throughout the state.

The Growing List of Online Casinos in New Jersey

There are now 23 online casinos available legally to adults aged 21 or older who are located in New Jersey’s state boundaries. In 2019, the first online casinos to open up shop were Bet365 and Unibet — and we expect the list to continue growing. Competition is high, but as one of the biggest names in the PA gaming industry, Parx is sure to be a strong competitor in New Jersey’s online casino market.
