PGAM Webinar: How the Prevention Paradox May Now Apply

Friday, March 1, 2024, at 11:00 am

The Council on Compulsive Gambling of New Jersey (CCGNJ) will present the first in a series of five webinars being offered during the March observance of Problem Gambling Awareness Month (PGAM) on March 1.

The first hour-long webinar, entitled ” “How the Prevention Paradox May Now Apply to all Gambling Harm,” will be presented by Luis Del Orbe, the CCGNJ’s Prevention and Treatment.

Webinar description: An exploration of the prevention paradox and its implication for problem gambling harm. Participants will be given examples of how well-intended efforts to promote responsible gambling and increase awareness may inadvertently contribute to the normalization and perpetuation of gambling behavior. Alternative strategies that consider the complexities of the prevention paradox related to gambling harm will also be discussed.

Anyone wishing to attend the webinar must register using the following link:  https://us02web.zoom.us/webinar/register/WN_ujSwopagQbKOieNpOTYGZg

One CEU credit will be awarded at the end of the webinar to attendees who take the brief, required pre- and post-webinar quizzes.
