David Scanlan has served as Chief of Staff at the New Jersey Casino Control Commission since 2007 and is the agency’s chief administrative officer as well as a senior advisor to the chairman and commissioners. He is also the chief liaison to the industry, the Legislature and the governor’s office. The commission is the lead independent licensing authority of the casino industry in New Jersey.
Mr. Scanlan has more than 30 years of executive experience in the public and private sectors including having been Director of Appointments in the Governor’s Office, Chief of Staff at the NJ Department of Community Affairs and Associate Director of the Executive Education Center at the Rutgers-Camden School of Business. He also served as President of New Jersey Healthcare Administrators, a third-party benefits administration firm, for 10 years.
Mr. Scanlan previously served on the Board of Directors of the Heart of Camden, a community development non-profit in Camden, New Jersey, and was its President for five years. He holds a bachelors degree from Rutgers University-Camden.
