ART PENN

Board Member

Art Penn’s professional and volunteer life reflects his commitment to help the voiceless and disadvantaged and those suffering from mental health needs. After serving as a public defender for seven years, representing poor persons accused of crime, he worked as the head of the Division of Public Interest Advocacy in the Department of the Public Advocate until he was elevated to Assistant Commissioner of the Department. Subsequently he was in private practice until his retirement. He was fortunate enough to be appointed to the Board of Bar Examiners as well as President of the Burlington County Ethics Committee. Art served on the Board, and as President, of the National Federation for Children’s Mental Health and on the Board of the Southwestern New Jersey Mental Health Association.
